We wanted to write to you at the end of what has been a very difficult year for us all. We really appreciate all you have
been doing at home to support your children, and can’t wait until we can open school fully again. School will close as
planned on Friday 17th July for the summer break. We will provide ideas of activities you may want to do at home, and links
to some activities which will ensure your children are ready for September. Check out the Online Learning Portal on each
school’s website later in the term.
There are a number of things we need to let you know about the end of year.
1) Reports- these will be sent to you on Thursday 9th July- BY EMAIL- please make sure we have an email address for
you, if there is a problem, please let us know.
2) New classes- we will email you during the last week of term about your child’s new class and teacher for
September, and hope to be able to put links to videos introducing your teachers.
3) Collection of belongings- we know that some children will have belongings to collect and we will try to organise
this safely by the end of term.
Schools have still not received clear guidance for September, but have been told to plan to open fully for all children after
the Summer break. Devonshire Infant and Juniors, in line with all of Victoria Academies Trust schools will be planning to
open fully from MONDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER. Children joining us in nursery and reception will have their own letters with
times, dates and plans for them to start their Devonshire journey.
We know that over the summer, local and national guidance can and probably will change, and we will be making our plans
and preparations to ensure we meet all safety requirements. Due to this changing regularly, we will contact you during the
week of 1.
st September, to ensure that you know times, doors and any other arrangements for the 7th September.
As it stands, it is unlikely that we will be able to provide before and after school care or clubs to begin with in September,
so you may want to consider other options. If guidance changes and as soon as we can plan for this- we will let you know.
We would ask over the summer that you check your emails regularly for updates, and also through our websites:
We know that the past few months have been hard for our families. Our staff have missed seeing you all too, and we really
do hope we will all be back together in September.
Stay safe, and have a good summer – let’s hope the sun shines for everyone.
See you soon,
Miss Philpot, Mrs Gibson, Mrs Waldron and all staff at Devonshire Infant and Juniors.
